Summary

Congratulations! You’ve completed the cybersecurity module and have added to, or updated, your knowledge about cybersecurity in digital agriculture. If you’ve had a chance to complete all of the exercises and work your way through the worksheets, you will have started building a tool kit that you can use to keep your farm safer and make it easier to maintain your operations – or recover as quickly as possible – if a cyber incident does happen.

By developing a farm cybersecurity policy and a network map, you are in a better position to talk to vendors, IT service providers, and other trusted advisors. You are also equipped with more knowledge on how to protect your critical business assets (data, systems, equipment).

Now that you’ve completed the module, how do you think you would react, if someone mentioned ‘on-farm cybersecurity’?

How does cybersecurity fit into your approach to farm business risk management?

How do you think taking action on cybersecurity helps your farm business be more profitable?

What are the first things you will do (maybe you’ve already started to do some of these things) to improve your preparedness?

How does taking care of farm cybersecurity connect to the values that are important to you, as a producer?

How does paying attention to cybersecurity help you to be the kind of grower you want to be?

What would you tell someone who said that cybersecurity on the farm isn’t something they need to worry about?

Here is a final set of questions to help you think about the journey you’ve taken by completing this module:

Thank you for taking time to be part of a group of producers who are contributing to ‘cyber barn raising’, to make Canada’s rural communities and food system more secure and more resilient!

Please go ahead and share this module in your networks, organizations, and communities. And, in the spirit of barn raising, talk to your family, friends and peers to share tips and insights, so you can all be more prepared and safer, together.
